Culture Shock, Adaptasi Mahasiswa, dan Pengelolaan Biaya Hidup Mahasiswa Uigm Dalam Mengikuti Prorgam Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka Batch 4

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara mendalam tingkat culture shock, proses adaptasi sosial dan akademik, serta strategi pengelolaan biaya hidup mahasiswa Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) yang mengikuti Program Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka (PMM) Batch 4 di tiga wilayah penempatan yang berbeda, yaitu Pulau Jawa, Sulawesi 1, dan Sulawesi 2. Program PMM merupakan bagian dari kebijakan Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka yang mendorong mobilitas akademik lintas daerah, namun perbedaan budaya dan kondisi sosial ekonomi di tiap daerah seringkali menimbulkan tantangan baru bagi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional dan didukung oleh data kualitatif dari catatan harian mahasiswa. Instrumen penelitian terdiri atas kuesioner skala Likert lima poin untuk mengukur culture shock dan adaptasi sosial-akademik, serta catatan pengeluaran selama empat minggu untuk menggambarkan kondisi finansial mahasiswa. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa tingkat culture shock dan kemampuan adaptasi berbeda pada setiap lokasi, dengan korelasi negatif antara keduanya (r = -0,527), yang berarti semakin tinggi culture shock, semakin rendah tingkat adaptasi. Faktor ekonomi tidak menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan terhadap adaptasi, namun kesiapan mental dan dukungan sosial memiliki peran penting. Rekomendasi utama penelitian ini adalah perlunya pembekalan pra-keberangkatan yang mencakup literasi keuangan, pelatihan komunikasi lintas budaya, serta pendampingan mentor lokal agar mahasiswa mampu menghadapi dinamika sosial dan budaya secara positif selama menjalani program pertukaran.
