Pengelompokan Generasi Z Kota Jambi Pengguna Instagram Berdasarkan Perbandingan Sosial, Citra Diri, dan Self Esteemm Metode Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering

Perkembangan media sosial telah menciptakan fenomena perbandingan sosial yang kuat di kalangan Generasi Z, terutama melalui platform seperti Instagram. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pola perbandingan sosial serta hubungannya dengan citra diri dan self-esteem pada Generasi Z di Kota Jambi. Menggunakan metode Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering (AHC), penelitian ini mengelompokkan 384 responden berusia 15–27 tahun berdasarkan kemiripan karakteristik psikologis tanpa menentukan jumlah klaster sejak awal. Instrumen berupa kuesioner digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat perbandingan sosial, citra diri, dan self-esteem. Analisis dilakukan melalui uji validitas dan reliabilitas, standarisasi data, serta penerapan empat metode linkage: single, complete, average, dan ward, dengan evaluasi menggunakan Silhouette Coefficient. Hasil menunjukkan metode Ward menghasilkan nilai tertinggi sebesar 0,1576, dan konfigurasi dua klaster menjadi yang paling optimal dengan nilai 0,1897. Klaster pertama berisi 321 responden dengan karakteristik psikologis stabil, citra diri positif, dan aktivitas Instagram 2–3 jam per hari. Klaster kedua terdiri dari 63 responden dengan tingkat perbandingan sosial tinggi, citra diri fluktuatif, dan self-esteem rentan. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya edukasi digital dan intervensi psikososial untuk menjaga keseimbangan mental Generasi Z di era media sosial.
